Efficiency and Emissions

The Naudic iCVT is likely to exceed current CVT fuel saving claims (18%), because, being a positive drive system, it does not suffer from the friction and or hydraulic control losses associated with conventional, traction fluid systems. Compared to 6 speed AMTs, automatics, heavy-duty ‘PowerShift’ transmissions and high Nm belt CVTs, the Naudic iCVT offers significantly improved fuel-efficiency with the proportional reduction in emissions.

No Traction Fluid

Because the Naudic iCVT does not utilise traction fluid, as is the case with conventional toroidal and variable pulley CVTs, it is a more efficient system, with less mechanical stress compared to the high pressure required to generate traction through ‘interlocking’ of the lubrication interface. Because it does not use a traction fluid interface, all the Naudic iCVT requires is standard gearbox lubricants. This means less maintenance and less downtime compared to existing CVT systems.

The Naudic iCVT is a simple, adaptable design for robust applications, with no power or torque limitations. Naudic iCVTs can easily be scaled up or down to suit power and torque outputs in any OEM requirement.
